Santee Alley

I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I am the only spouse that moved to California for the duration of the project.  Some of the spouses of the project's members visit from time to time so when Eileen visited from Nebraska back in August, we began to spend time with each other daily.  I was thrilled to have someone to get together with and we quickly found we had much in common.  She, too, is a mother of four adult children, a nurse, and married to an engineer.  We quickly became friends.

Most of our time together was spent walking Walter, but one day we decided to explore Santee Alley in downtown L.A. and left Walter behind!

 It's located in the heart of fashion district and has EVERYTHING imaginable for sale.

And the prices are unbelievable!

Not so sure about the quality . . .

We didn't purchase anything this time . . .

  

but we will definitely be returning in the future!

The day before Eileen returned to Nebraska we went to view a taping of Conan.  So fun!  We saw Seth Green, Mary Lynn Rajskub, and Milo Greene.  It turns out that Eileen's husband sings barbershop with one of Conan's camera men who said he could get four tickets to Conan for her anytime.   How nice!
