The Bryant's visit

Deborah and Stephen, friends of ours from Greensboro, N.C., arrived late in the afternoon on Friday, Oct 4th.  They had been out west on business and extended their trip to spend a long weekend with us in L.A.  On Saturday we headed to Hollywood for a food tour.  What fun!

The starting point of our tour was in the lobby of the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood.  Did you know that the first Academy Awards was held here?  Back then it took about 5 minutes to present all of the awards.   Also a scene from CATCH ME IF YOU CAN was filmed on the balcony as the architecture resembles a European hotel.

Our tour guide, Trish, did an excellent job informing us of so much!

Our first stop CRUMBS- look at the size of that cupcake!  And price!

Enjoying samples of the cupcakes

Did you know that Hollywood was originally named Figwood?

Our next stop - Loteria Grill

Then some delicious pizza from Mozza2Go!

And then on to Greenblatt's Deli.

Enjoying delicious samples from John Kelly Chocolates

Our tour ended with a stop at Mashti Malone's where we tasted countless samples of unique flavors of ice cream.

It was the most informative tour and such a tasty tour!  What fun!

On Sunday evening we had tickets to see The Sunshine Boys with Danny DeVito and Judd Hirsch.  We decided to dine downtown near the Ahmanson Theatre.

Both the dinner and the play were delightful!  It was great fun seeing Danny DeVito and Judd Hirsch!

We had so much fun exploring two "new" L.A. adventures with the Bryant's!
