We loved our car tour of Memphis, but it put us two hours behind and we had a long way to go!
Steve spotted these geese in the air- something we don't see in California.
And then we saw this cloud of geese!

Our original destination point was Oklahoma City, but we decided to keep going. We were thankful that we did since there was a wintery storm approaching. 30 minutes outside of Amarillo, Texas the freezing rain began. We checked into our hotel around midnight and were told that 2 - 4 inches of sleet, freezing rain, and snow was predicted with hazardous road conditions expected until 6 p.m. on New Year's Eve. After 16 hours in the car, we were very ready for some rest and we would deal with the weather in the morning.
